| What
would be the size of the opening in the ceiling for my Civik Spiral
staircase? In
general, the ceiling opening would need to be 100mm larger than the
diameter of the spiral stair.

| What
floor height is available from the standard Civik Spiral kit?
The
standard Civik kit of 13 risers will fit a floor to floor height of
up to 2.86m (9' 4") whilst complying with the UK Building
Regulations. Our regs require a maximum individual tread rise
of 22cm; however, the staircase is made in Italy and can be
installed with a tread rise of up to 23.5m to comply with
regulations in the rest of Europe. It is important that you
are aware of this when looking at details for the Italian staircases
in the brochure and on other websites. We are always happy to
advise on the options for your project. |

| |
| What
if my floor height is lower or higher than the standard kit height?
If you have a lower
floor to floor height, you will probably just use less of the treads
supplied in the kit, plus you may need some additional components
and we would always be happy to advise you on this. If you
floor height is greater, then we can supply additional tread kits
and you'll find more details on the accessories
page. |

| Does
the Civik Spiral stair comply with UK Building Regulations?
The Civik Spiral
staircase is available in 4 diameters. The 1500mm diameter,
available exclusively from us, has been produced by Arkč
specifically for the UK market and this staircase will comply with
BS5395 Part 2 Category A Small Private Stair. This covers
access to a single bedroom. The BS5395 Part 2 specifies
certain sizes for certain uses and is referred to in the UK Building
Regs. If you are thinking of using the Civik Spiral as your
main stair i.e. accessing more than one bedroom, you would need to
ask for a relaxation from your local Building control department to
use a smaller diameter than required in the British Standard. You
can download the BS5395 Part 2 from our Services
Page.
You would also need
to install riserbars to fit between the open treads to comply with
the Building Regulations' 100mm gap rule. These are also available
on our accessories
page. |

| Is
it possible to connect the Civik handrailing to some balustrading on
my top landing?
Yes, you can buy
the matching balustrading kit to use on your stairwell or mezzanine
floor, as shown on the right. You'll find more details on our accessories
page. |

| I'm
slightly worried about my children slipping on the treads when they
use the staircase with their socks on!
The Civik Spiral
has non-slip tread mats supplied in the kit as standard. |
| |
| Do
I need to specify whether my Civik Spiral needs to turn to the
left or right before I order?
No. The Civik
Spiral kit can be installed in a clockwise or anti-clockwise ascent
at the time of installation.
