| What
would be the size of the opening in the ceiling for my Interbau Spiral
staircase? In
general, the ceiling opening would need to be 100mm larger than the
diameter of the spiral stair.
|
|
| |
| What
floor height is available for the Interbau staircases?
The
Interbau staircases are made to measure. In general terms, for
UK Building Regulations, this would mean an individual tread rise of
between 190mm and 220mm, but this will depend on your exact floor to
floor height and the type of staircase required. We are always happy to
advise on the options for your project. |
|
| |
| Do
the Interbau Spiral stairs comply with UK Building Regulations?
The Interbau
staircases are made to your exact floor to floor height to ensure
compliance with the relevant regulations.
You would also need
to install riserbars to fit between the open treads to comply with
the Building Regulations' 100mm gap rule. However,
many of the standard designs of balustrading do not comply with UK
regulations and we will always advise you of alternative designs
when required. |
| |
| Is
it possible to connect the Interbau staircase handrailing to some balustrading on
my top landing?
Yes, you can
specify the matching balustrading to use on your stairwell or mezzanine
floor. |

| |
| I'm
slightly worried about my children slipping on the treads when they
use the staircase with their socks on!
The timber treads
still retain a very slightly grainy texture to them but, if you want
to add some extra non-slip treatment, then buy our special Oakleaf
Clear Grip Strip shown on our accessories
page.
This is a cheap and quick way to add a durable non-slip treatment
that is friendly on bare feet! We can also offer other
non-slip treatments such as inset stainless steel bars. For
their acrylic treads, we can use a frosted finish for non-slip
qualities together with the inset stainless steel bars if required. |
| |
| Do
I need to specify whether my Interbau Spiral needs to turn to the
left or right before I order?
Yes. The
rotation of the spiral staircase will be part of the made to measure
design created just for your project.
